TYGA Restaurant

A neo–South East Asian restaurant and bar that channels the heat, rhythm, and flavour of 1970s Bangkok through fiery flavours, colourful cocktails & vinyl beats.

Our menu, crafted by Esca Khoo, is bold, playful and full of heart. Shaped by years spent in some of the world’s best kitchens, TYGA brings the buzz of South East Asian street food to Melbourne.

  • At TYGA, our dishes are centred around the venue’s open wood fired grill and celebrates the freshness, flavour and fun of the team's cultural heritage.

Drawing inspiration from Ho Chi Minh City, Kuala Lumpur and Bangkok, TYGA brings the energy of South East Asian street food, but with a distinctly Melbournian lens – relaxed, unpretentious and bursting with personality.

  • Born in Borneo, Malaysia, Chef Esca Khoo is an epicurean visionary, culinary luminary and trailblazer in the food world. He is a rising talent and is one of the most exciting up and coming chefs right now.

He comes with heavy culinary experience, having worked at the best kitchens from around the world and under world class chefs such as Chef Rene Redzepi, Heston Blumenthal and more. Known for his unique take and creative cooking inspired by Asia, merging food with purpose and essence of life.

Chef Esca encapsulates his journeys and imaginations in pursuit to create the future of Asian gastronomy. In past two years, from Melbourne to Kuala Lumpur to London to Mumbai to Hokkaido to Bali to Saigon to Hong Kong & more, he has travelled the globe to do takeovers, pop ups, food concepts and collaborations with the best, from wine bars, resorts, clubs, 5 star hotels, iconic institutions, 50 best & Michelin restaurants.

  • It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more.
